POSITION SUMMARY
The Worship Pastor is responsible for overseeing and providing vision for worship ministries at the Madison Campus in alignment with the vision of Daystar Church, the Lead Pastor, and the Campus Pastor.
This role leads the congregation in authentic, Spirit-led worship while developing, discipling, and pastoring worship and production team members. The Worship Pastor collaborates with global worship leadership to maintain unity in worship culture, song selection, service flow, and production excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Worship Leadership and Service Planning
Lead Sunday worship services with excellence and authenticity
Create Spirit-led environments that encourage the congregation to encounter God
Maintain strong stage presence and musical leadership
Review previous weekend services to evaluate effectiveness and growth opportunities
Finalize weekend setlists at least two weeks in advance, including keys, flow, and transitions
Coordinate spoken elements such as scripture, prayer, and pastoral transitions
Develop weekly order of worship in collaboration with the Global Worship Team
Communicate special service elements including baptisms, communion, and creative moments
Update Planning Center with team assignments, files, charts, lyrics, and arrangements
Worship and Production Team Leadership
Recruit, train, schedule, and develop worship and production volunteers
Build teams through a measurable recruiting, onboarding, and assimilation process
Equip leaders through the Daystar Worship Equip pathway
Lead and disciple the Campus Worship Lead Team
Provide leadership coaching, development, and spiritual formation opportunities
Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with key team members
Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and discipleship to volunteers
Rehearsal and Production Oversight
Ensure all charts, tracks, stems, and service files are prepared in advance
Coordinate and lead team rehearsals and run-throughs
Communicate rehearsal schedules and expectations
Collaborate with production teams on slides, lighting, cameras, and audio
Oversee stage aesthetics and service environment setup
Ensure all worship and production equipment is functional and service-ready
Maintain organization and cleanliness of auditorium, backstage, and storage areas
Campus and Global Collaboration
Collaborate with worship pastors and production leaders across all campuses
Maintain unity in worship culture, song selection, and service flow
Align with creative and media teams on service elements
Attend staff and ministry meetings as required
Coordinate worship alignment with Kids and Student Ministries
Assist the Global Service Programming Director in overseeing practicum students serving in worship ministry
Pastoral and Campus Ministry Responsibilities
Assist with campus pastoral care alongside staff leadership
Maintain an active pastoral presence on campus during the work week
Provide scheduled counseling availability for congregants
Lead a small group each semester
Foster small group discipleship within the worship ministry
Assist in leading worship for Freedom Conferences
Participate in monthly All Staff worship gatherings
Special Events and Worship Expressions
Coordinate and Lead worship for 21 Days of Prayer gatherings annually (January)
Staff and equip worship teams for campus events and services
Plan and execute worship nights and special services throughout the year (3-4 worship nights each year)
Support and develop Student Worship ministry environments (attend once a month to train and equip team)
Vision, Spiritual Health, and Culture
Maintain a consistent personal prayer and worship life
Seek spiritual direction for upcoming services
Provide spiritual leadership to the worship ministry
Maintain personal and professional growth through scripture, books, podcasts, and conferences
Stay current on worship trends, music, and technology
Communication and Administration
Attend weekly staff and departmental meetings
Provide regular updates to the Campus Pastor and Global Service Director
Communicate service plans and updates to teams
Coordinate service details with other ministries
Send monthly block-out date communications
Review and manage team rotations and schedules
GOALS AND PERFORMANCE METRICS
Plan and execute 3–4 Worship Nights annually
Develop and grow the worship and production volunteer pipeline
Maintain excellence in weekend worship environments
Participate in seasonal Daystar music releases as applicable
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
Strong vocal ability
Proficiency on at least one instrument
Demonstrated ability to lead congregational worship
Experience with Planning Center, ProPresenter, Ableton, and Playback
Ability to lead and develop volunteers spiritually and technically
Alignment with Daystar Church mission, vision, and values
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
